At Goodkind, the week used to begin with a long meeting about last week. The conversation was useful, but the information was scattered. Someone had the latest design. Someone else knew why a deadline had moved. The project board was usually a few days behind.
Leave a useful handoff
The team tried a smaller habit: before closing the laptop on Friday, each project owner left three short notes. What moved forward? What needs a decision? What is the next useful step? The update lived beside the project, where everyone could find it.
Make Monday about decisions
On Monday, people read the notes in their own time. The check-in became a place to resolve questions and offer help, rather than a round of status reports. A blocker could find its owner without becoming another meeting.
Keep the ritual small
The important part was keeping the update brief. A useful note is not a report about everything you did. It gives another person enough context to move the work forward. Start with one project this Friday, and notice what feels different on Monday.
